Context: Various existing hostas needed relocated out of the sun and into a shade/ part-shade site. |
Idea: Herbs were relocated to a separate herb garden and hostas were transplanted. Bleeding heart and dwarf bleeding heart were preserved, adding feathery foliage and pink blossoms throughout the summer. Astilbe, columbine, and variegated sage add contrasting texture and hints of purple early and late in the season. Sweet woodruff adds early spring interest and is a nice groundcover that seems to stay in check in the moist clay soil. Varying hosta varieties add blooms all summer long. |
