Context:
This is a project I worked on while employed at Hooper Shiles Architects. The Ambler Boiler House is an old power station turned asbestos manufacturing plant that has been abandoned for many years. As a result the building is filled with rubble, has slowly been deteriorating, and requires significant environmental remediation & containment of contaminated soils as part of the renovation.
Idea:
Summit Realty Advisors intends to renovate the building into unique Class-A office space in downtown Ambler. The intent was to keep the brick and steel structure exposed to the interior, and to use innovative and environmentally-friendly building systems and finishes. Showcased here is a rendering of the new entrance I designed while employed at Hooper Shiles Architects.
